About Me
I’m Minakshi, an artist living in Goa — where the vibrant hues of everyday life find their way into my palette.
Born and raised in a small city where art was never seen as a career, I first turned to fashion — still an unconventional choice then. A decade in Dubai’s fashion and retail world shaped my aesthetic eye, but over time, the rhythm felt too fast, too distant from what I truly sought.
Longing for depth and stillness, I returned to India — a choice that wasn’t easy but felt right. The journey home brought clarity, calm, and a rediscovery of myself through art.
Guided by artist Wilson D’Souza, I found joy in creation again — in colors that speak emotion and silence that tells stories. My work draws from visionaries like Chagall, Rousseau, Schiele, and Matisse — artists who dared to look beyond convention.

In a world that moves at the speed of “instant,” my art chooses the slower path — deliberate, thoughtful, unhurried. People remain my central muse: their stories, emotions, and quiet complexities are what shape each piece I create. There’s no philosophical reasoning behind why I paint — I simply do, because it makes me happy.
About The Minakari

The Minakari is my world of stories in color — a space born from the belief that the little things are never little.
Named after my own name, Minakshi, it also draws inspiration from the traditional art of Meenakari — an intricate craft known for its fine detailing and timeless beauty. Much like its namesake, The Minakari celebrates what often goes unnoticed — fleeting glances, tender pauses, and emotions that speak softly. Each artwork reflects that spirit: slow, thoughtful, and deeply personal.
Through The Minakari, I hope to preserve the poetry of everyday life — to remind us that beauty often hides in simplicity, and that meaning can be found in the quiet moments in between.
