"The Unreserved" draws from memories of everyday India, scenes filled with movement, struggle, and an unexpected sense of warmth. What once evoked both wonder and fear in me has, over time, turned into acceptance and admiration for the beauty that exists within our chaos. It’s a reflection of who we are as a people. Our resilience, warmth, and our strange ability to find joy amid struggle. Even when life feels heavy, there’s often someone who smiles, offers help, or shares a kind word.

Through this painting, I’ve tried to capture the emotions that define my inner world: wonder, fear, compassion, acceptance, nostalgia, awe, and hope. Together, they form a tapestry of what it means to live, to feel deeply, and to belong to a country that is imperfect yet profoundly humane.
